At Northwest Weight & Wellness Center, our goal is to help each of our patients embrace a healthier, happier life by empowering them to achieve long-term weight loss. One key to our patients’ success is our “no shame” approach to surgical and medical weight loss, which gives them a safe space to discuss their challenges related to the disease of chronic obesity. As part of pre-bariatric surgery testing for our patients from Seattle, Everett, and other Pacific Northwest communities, we rely on state-of-the art biometric screening technology to evaluate patients’ body makeup and help them understand their weight loss goals.
Tanita® Body Composition Analysis
The Tanita Body Composition Analyzer gives our weight loss doctors a detailed analysis of a patient’s body composition, which helps inform their weight loss and nutrition plans. Factors we can evaluate with the Tanita system include:
- Body Fat
- Body Water
- Muscle Mass
- Muscle Quality
- Bone Mass
- Body Mass Index (BMI)
- Metabolic Age
- Visceral Fat
- Daily Calorie Intake
ReeVue™ Metabolic Rate Analysis
We use the ReeVue analysis system to determine patients’ resting metabolic rate, which is the amount of energy their bodies need to function while resting and engaging in low-effort daily activities such as eating, walking, and sitting. Understanding how many calories a patient expends through basic daily activities helps us determine how many calories that patient should consume daily and the level of exercise necessary for them to achieve weight loss.
