Am I a candidate for Affirm?
There are very few contradictions to Affirm laser treatments. Please discuss any of the following with your provider during your free consultation:
- Hypersensitivity to sunlight
- History of abnormal scarring
- Pregnancy
- Skin disorders
- Medications you are taking, as some medications may interfere with or be exacerbated by the Affirm laser.
Affirm Expectations and Results
Typically people require 2 to 3 treatments, spaced at 1 month intervals. Each treatment lasts about 15 minutes to 1 hour, depending on severity of the skin issue. Additional treatments may be suggested to achieve optimal results. Immediately after treatment you may experience mild to moderate skin redness, similar to a sunburn, which typically last 2 to 3 days after each treatment. Makeup can be gently applied after 24 hours.
While it varies, typically you will notice some improvement after 1 to 2 treatments. Results are usually not immediate because they occur as the tissue heals. You should expect gradual improvement during the 4 to 6 weeks after your last treatment. Results can last from months to years. Age, heredity, diet and nutrition, skin care regimen, smoking, stress and other environmental factors will play a role in aging. Affirm laser treatments, along with proper skin care, can help set the clock back and slow the aging process.
