We Are A Certified Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery
The Bariatric Accreditation Program Advisory Committee of the American College of Surgeons has designated Northwest Weight Loss Surgery as a "Center of Excellence". This certification has been granted for both our clinic and surgery center.
The Bariatric Surgery Centers of Excellence programs benefit patients by enhancing safety and advocacy efforts, providing a platform for continuously improving the procedure, building a shared database to help guide decisions about patient care, and advancing research in the field.
Dr. Kevin F. Montgomery and Dr. Robert Michaelson, in concurrence with the bariatric program at Evergreen Hospital of Kirkland, have attained "Center of Excellence" certification by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Band Surgery.
The ASMBS Centers of Excellence program was created to recognize surgery centers that perform well. To earn a Center of Excellence designation, organizations undergo a series of site inspections during which all aspects of their respective programs' surgical processes were closely examined and data on health outcomes was collected. Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), an organization dedicated to pursuing surgical excellence, formulates and establishes the rigorous standards with which Centers of Excellence must comply. SRC thoroughly inspects and evaluates each candidate for designation, and upon review recommends approval for designation for those physicians and facilities whose practices and outcomes meet the stringent demands set forth by SRC and ASMBS.
